Photos, Ducks and ATCs

We had a nice rain the other day, and it was so pretty I had to get some photos. The first one is looking out by our front door - the roses are blooming, and they are so lovely!

The second photo is our "adopted" duck taking a dip in the pool again - silly guy!

Desert Island Swap Goodies

Oh it was a happy, happy day! Today I received in the mail a box full of goodies from my wonderful Desert Island swap partner, Tangee. I mean, look at this loot ... Tangee sent some lavendar soap that smells sooo good, a lovely silver anklet, a Paris journal, some M&M's (2 bags!), lotion, foot scrub, two lovely handpainted and decorated boxes, and more. Boy do I feel spoiled! Everything is just so lovely! Thank you, Tangee - I hope you enjoy your swap package too! xxoo

A Little Bit o' Fan Art on a Cloudy, Blustery Day

I know, I know - I usually opt to make Johnny Depp collages when I do fan art (and I hope Johnny will forgive me just this once =) but when I was younger I was a Tyrone Power fan to the max ... Absolutely loved him in "Marie Antoinette" and "Jesse James"!

Anyway, 'tis a very dreary day here in Illinois, I'm afraid - severe thunderstorm warnings, and things of that nature, so I should probably shut down the computer for a few hours. If there are any classic film fan-sters out there, I hope you enjoy this one! =) xxoo

Mermaid Swap Goodies

I wanted to share with you the beeeeeautiful items sent to me by sweet Lori, my Bella Enchanted Mermaid Swap partner. Everything is simply gorgeous! First, Lori made a journal (which I have really been needing) - it is so cute, and is decorated with little mermaids, and ribbons for dividers. Next, there was (and I mean was LOL) a bag of Tropical Mix Jelly Belly's - total yummy-ness! The coconut flavor is to die for - and so is the banana - well, actually all of the flavors rock!! Finally, Lori had wrapped up a box (with an adorable handmade mermaid card on it - decorated with sequins and seashells!)...and when I opened the box, inside was the most gorgeous handmade mermaid necklace... Boy do I feel very very spoiled =) Thank you, Lori - everything is so lovely, and I am thrilled to have made a new, and wonderful, friend! I hope you enjoy all of your goodies too ...

Happy Mother's Day

Here's wishing all the Mom's out there a lovely Mother's Day today. My Mom passed away on Mother's Day, 2000 so this day is always difficult for my family and me. I am so grateful that God allowed us to spend so many years with her; she was a fantastic, fun, creative and inspiring woman - and I know she is still nearby, watching over her children and grandchildren, and everyone she loved. I've been blessed with two incredible children, and I can only hope that they know how much I treasure and love them everyday.

So, Happy Mother's Day to all Moms everywhere! You are all special and very loved!
