Inspire Me Thursday - Wallpaper

When my family and I used to visit Ghost Towns out west, many times the empty old homes had newspaper and calendar sheets on the wall, used as wallpaper. Anyway, that's what inspired me in this challenge =)

some of my elder relatives used to have a room with newsprint on the wall. I used to love to read it over and over when I was young. Your collage evokes that nostalgia for me. Thanks.

i believe that is where the original idea of wall paper came from isn't it??? i was under the impression they put paper on the walls to seal out the drafts,, and then as things progressed it became a purely decorative endeavor... bu that is just my thinking,,, i haven't researched it or anything....

Thanks so much for your comments everybody - I really appreciate them =)

Paisley's comment got me a bit curious, so I did do some research on wallpaper. It's an interesting read, and here is a link if you're so inclined to learn more about it: http://www.buildingconservation.com/articles/wallpap/wallpap.htm

Evidently it's much older than I thought too! =)

Happy Easter! xo

What a great collage! The vinatge papers have such a warm tone, and the dragonfly on top adds a touch of whimsy.
