A Day in Forest Park - Magic!
Today we drove over to St. Louis and spent some time in Forest Park...the leaves are changing - so beautifully - and it was definitely sweater weather =)Anyway, do you know how sometimes people come into your life and you feel as though you were *meant* to know them, or places you travel to - where you were truly *meant* to be ... well, that is how I feel about Forest Park. I remember feeling that way about it when I was little - soooo very long ago LOL. I don't know, perhaps it is simply because I was there as a child, but if I am being true to my heart, I know I must go there - and go there often. It really lifts my heart and soul, and I am refreshed and happy then to come back home. Some places, I suppose, are really magic - and for me, that place is one of them.

California Wildfires
Sending out many heartfelt prayers to all of the thousands of people in California whose lives have been impacted and homes are being destroyed by these terrible wildfires. If anyone is interested in helping out in any way I believe your local Red Cross would be an excellent place to start...

Well hello there! Hope you are all doing great! Today was a BEAUTIFUL day here, with lots of nice rain (not stormy, just a gentle rain nearly all day long) and cool temps - in the low 60s. So refreshing, and it definitely created the mood for some art-type activities.This evening I played around with some photos I took during our trip to St. Louis in July ... the above pic was taken during that time at the Greenville, Illinois courthouse. I did some "Paint Shop Pro" techniques to the original photo I took, and ended up with a more vintage looking image. Anyway, it was kind of fun to do on a rainy evening while sipping some hot chocolate...Lots of love to everyone! ~ Peggi

Something for the Ponderer ...
The Pondering Pig wanted to see some more pics from around the area, so here are a couple I took recently ...
the first one is from today ... we were driving to Collinsville, and James snapped this one through the window. I thought it was really great, as the speed of the vehicle (and the slightly dirty windows - ahem!) gave the photo a nice "painterly" effect.
the second pic is what is known as "The World's Tallest Catsup Bottle" located in Collinsville, Illinois - definitely something to see, my friends! =)
last is a pic I took the other day when we were having a tornado watch ...

Pumpkin Mode
Hey everybody - hope you are all doing well! Have you been gearing up for Halloween? I have to admit, I had forgotten how much everyone gets into fall decorating here in the Midwest - it is AMAZING what they do here! Lots and lots of pumpkins, and mums, and scary - but fun - Halloween decorations all over the neighborhood ... I even found out that Edwardsville (the next town over from us) has a very large Halloween parade the evening before Halloween, and then the kids get to go trick-or-treating both nights! How do ya like dem apples LOL?So here are some of my attempts at making the home a bit more autumn-minded ... I will try and get some photos from the neighborhood on here too, as I do believe you'd enjoy these sites ... enjoy your weekend! xo, Peggi
