Marie in the Garden

Well hello there!  I hope everyone had a nice weekend ... it was very beautiful here.  Lots of sunshine, a few clouds, and warm enough to take a walk (with a coat on and maybe some gloves).

I did some more creating with the Mischief Circus kits.  This piece is called Marie in the Garden...

A Very Nice Day

Yes, today was a wonderful day!  My son and I had lunch with my sister in Bellingham, and then took a nice long (but cold) walk through the downtown - visiting various different shops and galleries.  James found a great place where he can rent space for a studio, and the gallery director was the sweetest lady.  I do hope he gets to set up shop there - it was very Jim-like (aka very cool, very artsy).  We had a great talk as we drove there and back.  He is such a wonderful and kind person, and funny and talented - I am one proud Mom.  And Elisabeth was accepted to WWU yesterday, and received her acceptance letter in the mail.  I know that girl is going to go far.  Yes, I am so very proud of my two wonderful adults =)

This is a piece I just worked on and completed.
Title:  Absinthe Robette
To create this I used Itkupilli's kits in Mischief Circus. This one is a bit different from most of the ones I do - I think I was a bit more creative here.
Digital Collage

Hope everyone is gearing up for a fantastic weekend! <3 p="">

Some of My Newest Art

Hello!  I am back again after a long hiatus.  But I do have some new artwork to share with you, and some life-related updates as well.

My family and I are living in Washington state right now, and everyday it surprises me with its incredible beauty.  I have also been working with #Itkupilli's #MischiefCircus kits, been creating some very fun pieces with them.  I'll attach some so you can see the variety of wonderful artistic styles you can create with these.  And this is just a very small handful of the different styles Mischief Circus offers!  Itkupilli and her Design Team have a huge varied supply of wonderful digital pieces to use in your artwork (as you can tell, I am a total fan =)

Here are some recent ones I've created:

I will add a few more shortly ... I have been so immersed in creating these since I bought my first kit.  So you can definitely expect more to come.

I was deeply saddened to hear about the passing of JoAnna Pierotti.  She fought a long, difficult battle against breast cancer for several years, but lost her fight earlier this week.  JoAnna was an incredibly talented artist, always friendly, and honest, and someone I wished I could meet in person.  Unfortunately that was not to happen.  Please say a prayer, and send healing and positive thoughts, to her loved ones and her husband, Ron - their grief at this time has got to be immense.

Tomorrow my kids and I (who are much older now - not kids anymore =) Lisa, 24, and James, 22, will be meeting with my sister Dianne for lunch in Bellingham.  Of course it is supposed to rain LOL  It should be a good time, though - I will take pictures to share with you, and will post a few more digital collages as well.

Much love, Peggi

An Early Start ...

Halloween Night ... This is an altered photo of the trees in our front yard.  I used Paint Shop Pro to make the changes, and I think it turned out pretty spooky.

A New Year and a New Blog!

Hello everyone!  I wanted to say Happy New Year and let you know that I have started up a new blog. You can find it at:  Artful Living in the San Juan Islands

I've recently relocated to Eastsound, Washington on Orcas Island and wanted to create a blog, basically documenting my time spent here - photographs, art, food, décor, daily living and inspirational issues are some of the topics you can read about.

Also, if you are an artist, decorator, foodie, photographer, etc. and would like to be featured just send me an email to peggi_meyer_graminski@yahoo.com

I will still be posting my artwork here too, so I think this will be a very busy year.  Hope that everyone is well and happy, and doing lots of wonderful creative things.  Much love, Peggi

A New Leaf ... and a New Blog

Hi there everyone!

Well, I have decided to turn over a new leaf in my art, and also to start up a new blog.  The title of it is Artful Living in San Francisco, and it will include some new and exciting photo altering techniques - along with the images themselves (before and after), as well as simple tutorials that you can do yourself.  These techniques will not require an expensive digital camera (although you can certainly use one), but can also be applied to photos you take with your iPad or iPhone.

I am getting things in gear, have come across some wonderful vintage images, and taken some new ones.  I am hoping the blog will be up and running early next week.  See you there!

A fantasy piece - sort of dreamy, which I have feeling very much like recently. Looking forward to spring this year =)

Enchanted Forests

Here are a couple of impressionist style pieces I created in Paint Shop Pro. I did a lot of layering and playing with the colors, and am happy with the way these two turned out. =)

Colorful Abstracts for the New Year

Here are a couple of abstracts I worked on today.  As you will notice, they are very similar - yet different.  Which one do you like better?  Hope everyone is starting the New Year off right - I always love the new year.  It always feels like you have a new slate, and you can fill it however you want.  I hope you all experience great things in the year ahead. xo

Joy!

Happy New Year to my readers - and may you have a joyful year ahead! xxoo

Dance Like No-one is Watching

Digital collage from an old magazine cover, combined with a variety of textures, and colorizing.  Hope you like this one =)

New Garden Mandalas

These are wonderful to meditate on; whenever I use them I feel rejuvenated and stronger - ready to take on whatever Life throws at me.  Some of them (with more muted and softer colors) leave me feeling more at peace.  Nature has given us so many good things - we need to appreciate them everyday.

Peaceful Christmas

Wishing everyone a safe and happy holiday season!  This piece is entitled Peaceful Christmas - wouldn't it be nice if the earth was a peaceful planet and the angels could get some rest =)  Well, after playing a bit with my art I guess I better finish wrapping presents and start celebrating.  Have a blessed eve! xo

December Moonlight Journey Challenge and Christmas ART Contest

This is my submission to the Moonlight Journey Challenge and Christmas Art contest.  I used the image of the Madonna and child from Moonlight Journey images (Kym Decker), I used backgrounds from Robert Kauffman fabrics, several fonts found on dafont.com, a Paint Shop Pro frame, and the whole image was colorized using PSP.  Hope you like it!  Merry Christmas!  ~Peggi

Drops of Jupiter

Created in Paint Shop Pro as a digital painting and inspired by the song by Train, "Drops of Jupiter" - love it! =)

Arizona Lovin'

Digital painting, created using Paint Shop Pro.

Colorful Leaves

Lots of texture and layering; colorized in Photoshop.  This piece is currently being offered in my Etsy shop.

Cold Mountain

One of my favorite films - loved Nicole and Jude together; the story; the music - everything about it.  So here is a photo I altered and then collaged, combining many unique layers.  I hope you like it!

Come Visit My New Freebie Blog

Free Vintage Images, Graphics, Banners and more

It is still very new, but I will be adding to it everyday and would be happy to take special requests if there is something you can't find, I will search for it all over Cyberspace =)

Like Coming Home

Well, today I visited my blog again after a very long time; it was like visiting an old friend ... reminiscing about Arizona, my family and friends there, the always fun Bisbee that I loved to walk through and take photos ... it was all still here waiting for me.  Like a diary of sorts, except it is something I have shared with my internet friends, as well as my close friends.  I am so glad that when I first got my camera in 2005, I listened to my Dad when he said to start a blog - he was such a smart, intuitive guy =)

So here I am again, with one of my newest pieces ... I am still using Paint Shop Pro and Photoshop, but I've been pushing myself to expand my knowledge of all of the things they are capable of doing.  It is interesting to see how my art has changed, and how certain events have altered my creativity a bit - sometimes the feeling of joy is so strong that I see it show up in my art; sometimes the pain of losing loved ones does too, and my art becomes darker and cold.

Here is a joyful one - I hope you like it =)  xo

Abstract Tulip Garden

Altered photo that I took of some tulips at SIUe a while back...

Paris Lovin'

This piece was created by combining two images - the vintage lady (who I colorized in PSP) and the vintage Paris postcard (also altered in Paint Shop Pro). I added a couple of flare picture tubes to give it a feeling of good ol' Paris magic. Springtime in Paris - sounds soooo nice =)

Pink Floyd - "Wish You Were Here"

A Little Bit of Magic

I have been seeing a lot of awesome images on the web lately - all glittery and sparkly, and truly magical...so I wanted to try and create my own version. My son says this looks like a galaxy to him (thanks Jim =), but it is actually bokeh, glitter, hearts and flares all combined. A little bit of magic for Super Bowl Sunday (come on Pats!!!)
