Blossoms and Birthdays

Whew! It was a busy day - but very fun! Since we were celebrating my birthday early I got to go to two of my favorite places today - Lowe's to buy lots of flowers to plant (will be doing that tomorrow, so I will get some pics of the planting-in-progress) and Michael's to stock up on craft supplies. In between cleaning the pool and doing yardwork, John even managed to make an excellent dinner tonight, ordered & picked up a beautiful cake from Dierberg's, and took Jim and Lisa shopping. That man has energy!!!

All in all, it was truly a beautiful day - the blossoms on the trees are astounding - so pretty they bring tears to my eyes (no, I'm not allergic LOL) ... their scent is heavenly (the pink one is right outside my bedroom window - so lovely to see in the early morning). I love days like these!

PS The... um...rather vintage looking pic is me right before my 6th birthday party =)

Susan Tuttle's New Book "Exhibition 36"

I am so excited this evening ... Susan Tuttle, an amazing multi-talented artist, blogger (Ilka's Attic), and sweet friend has written a book entitled Exhibition 36 which features her fantastic artwork, as well as the work of 35 more mixed media artists. This is the first time my artwork will be published, and it is so exciting. It is a true honor to be included in Exhibition 36! =) Above is an image of the book cover ... I think it looks FANTASTIC! Hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend ... this is our first really pretty (by that I mean "sunny" and "not too cold") day this Spring. It's so nice to see people out again, and all the little kids playing, people mowing their yards ... the grass is already sooooo very green, and while out driving I've noticed forsythia, tulips, crocus, hyacinths, and gorgeous flowering trees all over the place.

When I was a child springtime was my favorite season (but that might have had something to do with my b-day being in the spring - I don't know...well, maybe =) and so it is nice to see these small nuances of the season, jogging my memories - with the sights and sounds of spring....

Hmmmmm, April in Paris - now wouldn't that be something?!
